Press Release Author = Feanor Tallinn
Industry = Automotive
Press Release Summary = Feanor (Tallinn, ESTONIA) presents a new laser interferometer, extremely compact, cost-effective and accurate, to inspect coordinate measuring machines and machine tool axis.
Press Release Body = The laser interferometer has the best price/performance ratio available on the market. Two versions are available: the first one can be used to upgrade single-axis length measuring systems, thus avoiding expensive upgrade or change of the original built-in glass or steel scale.
The laser source is located out of the linear measuring system, the interferometer on the fixed head, and he retroreflector on the moving head. Standard resolution is 1 nm but can be further reduced on request. Five temperature sensors (three uniformly connected to the machine) are used for compensation and urther reduction of measurement uncertainty, even if stable laboratory environmetal conditions usually do not require compensation of temperature, pressure and humidity. Measuring value is sent continously to QMSOFT through seial port. QMSOFT is a highly efficient and professional gauge management system, used to print, save and manage calibration certificates, including many standards for many different gauge types (plain and thread gauges).
A second laser interferometer has been developed for calibration of coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and for inspection of machine tool axis. This instrument is very useful for in-house maintenance and quality inspection on machines, allowing high saving on calibration costs. For technical detail please check www.feanor.com/laser_uk.htm
